EVS Sending

As a sending organisation for the European Voluntary Service (EVS) based in Germany, we are able to apply for funding for you to volunteer in different organisations across Europe.

Who can volunteer?

  • Anyone between the age of 18 and 30: No qualifications, expertise, or specific requirements needed. Just plenty of motivation, enthusiasm and energy!
  • Permanent residents of Germany: For Citizens of Europe to act as your sending organisation you will need to be a permanent resident of Germany.

Where can you volunteer?

  • The 27 EU Member States: the European Economic Area (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) and Turkey.
  • South East Europe : Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Former Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia.
  • Eastern Europe and Caucasus : Armenia, Azerbeijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russian Federation, Ukraine.
  • Mediterranean Partner Countries : Algeria, Eygpt, Isreal, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian West Bank and Gaza Strip, Syria, Tunisia.

What does the EVS pay for?

  • International Travel - travel to and from the project
  • Language Course
  • Accommodation and Food costs.
  • Your Allowance: The host organisation will give the volunteer a weekly or monthly allowance, the amount will differ by country.
  • Insurance: all volunteers will be insured against sickness and accidents.

How to become an EVS volunteer?

  • Citizens of Europe can help you by acting as your Sending organisation if you live in Germany.
  • We will help you to consult the EVS database to find a placement and project which suits you and your interests. We can also suggest partners who we have worked with in the past and have regular contact with.
  • We will take responsibility for all of the paperwork and administration in order to secure your funding.
  • We are an approved sending organisation and have plenty of experience sending and supporting our participants abroad.
